As part of a very generous donation of £1,400 to a number of charities made by the members of Trafford Park Broad Oak Lodge 4486, the sum of £500 was presented to the Salford Institute of Dementia Hub based at Salford University.
The Hub, which was opened at the end of 2013 by local renowned actor Christopher Eccleston, (a former alumni), works with local associates who are living with dementia at various levels. Alongside research and development technologists they devise and enhance many day-to-day things which help make life a little easier. This can range from simply selection of colours to define things better, special flooring, lighting and specialised gardening areas.
Presenting the cheque to Leslie Waring (Institute Administrator) were APrGM Dave Walmsley and David Pugh (WM of Trafford Park Broad Oak Lodge). Lesley on behalf of the charity expressed her delight on such a generous gift and will continue to keep contact with the lodge to advise them as to how the money has been invested in the project.
In addition, the lodge donated £400 to the MCF 2021 Festival and £500 to Cancer Research.
